How do you get bench scientists and executives at biotech firms to change the way they think about problem-solving? That was the challenge presented to us by Life Technologies which was working in conjunction with IDEO on a curriculum-based approach.  Page 90 transformed their 6-week course and 200-slide PowerPoint into a 6-part animated series designed to pique interest in the full program.

The strategy behind our creative choices was to catch the audience off-guard with something that felt anything but corporate (after all, this was going to be shared through Life Technologies’ Intranet).  By incorporating visual gags, inside jokes, and paying homage to 1960’s educational videos, we were able to make the content fun and infuse it with a sense of discovery and wonder.  Once we had their attention, it was easy to share new information, create clear calls-to-action and generate interest in the full UCI programming.
